The ground still may be covered in snow, but we’re all dreaming of springtime. If you are looking out your window wondering if it’s time for that outdoor kitchen, it’s probably time. If you’re starting to plan improvements to your outdoor space, an outdoor kitchen can definitely be part of the plan.

It Can Fit Your Space

As New Englanders, we know that backyard space is variable depending not only on where you live, but even what part of your town you live in. Our historic towns present interesting backyards. However, outdoor kitchens have come a long way; outdoor kitchens can be designed to fit in your outdoor space without swallowing it up. And, of course if you have a larger property you can opt for a larger outdoor kitchen if that is what suits you.

Many Amenity Options

Outdoor kitchens aren’t just gas grills with a counter. There are many more options to enhance the space depending on your preferences. It does begin, typically, with a gas grill, although if you prefer a gas griddle that is an alternative.

Other additions can include side burners, a refrigerator and/or a freezer, storage cabinets, trash storage, a meat smoker, or a pizza oven. The limit is whatever you can imagine in the space. And once you’ve decided on the amenities you’d prefer, you finish it off with a beautiful countertop.

Stone Choices

Granite, quartzite and soapstone are all popular choices for outdoor kitchen countertops. Natural stones have spent thousands of years outdoors, so they are minimally impacted by the weather and they are UV resistant. We’ve seen everything from rustic to midcentury modern. One outdoor kitchen we saw sported waterfall granite countertops on both ends, creating a beautiful outdoor entertaining space.

If this is the year for your new outdoor kitchen, we’d love you to visit one of our showrooms in West Bridgewater or Haverhill, MA, to see the many kitchen countertop options for your outdoor (or indoor) kitchen. Our showrooms receive new inventory every week and the slabs we have are constantly changing.

We hope we’ll see you soon.
