During the pandemic, we were finding refuge in our bathrooms. We brightened them up, bringing in spa elements and embracing the bathroom as one of the havens in our homes for peace, quiet and relaxation. If a bathroom refresh is in your plans for 2024, there are some new trends to add into the mix as you consider what you want your space to look and feel like.
Here are four trends we’re watching:
Bathrooms are trending toward earth tones like beige, tan and terracotta along with greens and lilac. Blues and greys are less popular now. According to Zillow, repainting with earth tones could increase the resale value of your home by around $1,600.
2. Natural elements
Spa-inspired bathrooms remain popular. 2024 sees designers bringing in natural elements like green plants and natural stone sinks and tiles as well as natural wood. This adds to the spa feel that has become popular in the past few years, allowing us to connect with the outdoors by bringing a bit of it inside.
3. Vertical Tile
Vertical tiles – glossy or matte – are increasingly popular. They make the room seem taller, which makes a smaller bathroom seem more luxurious. Using the same vertical tiles on the floor and walls but in different directions is a creative twist in the vertical tiles. Textured tiles are also popping up to make the room more interesting.
4. Natural Stone
The trend to bring natural stone into the bathroom is growing. Large format natural stone tile has become a strong trend in bathroom design, especially since, with fewer grout lines, it is easier to keep clean. And, of course, natural stone vanity tops are a perfect fit for this trend. Most popular in the bathroom right now are marble and quartzite vanity tops.
If you’re trying to imagine what natural stone will look like in your new bathroom, we invite you to explore the many options we offer, then visit one of our showrooms in Haverhill or West Bridgewater, MA. Nothing beats seeing these beautiful stones in person. No appointment necessary.
