Airy coastal vibes are sticking around in 2022. Greys, blues and greens are all popular and they all work beautifully in the timeless two-tone kitchen, letting you create interest without overwhelming your space.
Here are three really lovely looks we’re seeing in kitchens.
Classic White and Grey
Whites and greys are still winning in popularity, often chosen for walls, cabinets, backsplashes and countertops. They offer a clean and serene look in the kitchen. The combination of these two neutrals gives a kitchen interest, but leaves room for your own pops of color.
Sand and Sea
Rapidly increasing in popularity are the colors of sand and sea. Hazy marine blues and pebble greys are complemented by touches of subtle earth tones. Think about your walk along the beach – the blue and grey of the water with the varied, earthy colors of seashells with a touch of amber. A very soft and elegant take on the orange and blue that balance one another on the color wheel.
Muted Greens
Muted greens that balance beautifully with neutrals like whites, creams and greys, are beginning to come into their own. These delicate green shades make the space feel open and airy. They are subtle, but eye catching.
Two Tone
All three of these color trends are perfect for two-tone kitchens. The timeless two-tone look can be accomplished in a number of ways. You can add visual interest to your space by using contrasting cabinet colors: the island cabinets can have a different color from the rest of the cabinets, or you can contrast upper cabinets with lower cabinets.
Cabinets aren’t the only way to create a two tone effect. It can be done with wall colors and cabinets for a subtle look, or for a dramatic look choose a stunning island in a bold color and complement it with neutral tones in your other cabinetry.
Two-tone kitchens are versatile and give you plenty of options to explore your creativity as you design your new kitchen space.
