The remodel you’re planning is so exciting; you’ve been imagining that beautiful new kitchen for months. You’ve talked to your general contractor or interior designer and you are making choices about flooring, cabinets, appliances, fixtures and countertops. When it comes to kitchen countertops, that means planning a visit to Boston Granite Exchange. But where does BGE fit into your kitchen remodel plan?
Our role is to offer you a large inventory of beautiful, quality stones so you can select the stone that best meets your needs, lifestyle and budget. BGE imports natural stones from all over the world and we also have our own line of quartz– The BGE Quartz Collection. Quartz is a man-made stone and an alternative to natural stones. Read this blog to learn more about quartz. As importers of stone, we function as a wholesaler so while you come visit one of our showrooms to pick out your stone, we work with your kitchen & bath dealer or fabricator. A fabricator cuts the stone and installs the kitchen countertop at your home. Once you have selected the stone at Boston Granite Exchange, we deliver your selected material to your fabricator..
So when do you visit a Boston Granite Exchange Showroom?
This is a frequently asked question. Remodeling a kitchen can be stressful and overwhelming with the many decisions you are making. Generally as shown below there is a typical sequencing of the decisions to be made.

As shown above, typically you will select your kitchen cabinets, flooring and appliances first. We recommend visiting one of our showrooms when your general contractor indicates you are a month from being ready to install your kitchen countertops. This is when you plan your visit to see our beautiful natural stones including granites, marbles, soapstone and quartzite and The BGE Quartz Collection. At this time you can make notes of stones you like and once you have made a decision, you can put the chosen stone on hold for delivery to your fabricator. We hold material for seven days to give you time to communicate with your fabricator and complete the purchase order within that time period. With all details finalized between the fabricator and BGE, we deliver your selected stone to your fabricator and they take it from there.
Prior to visiting our showroom, we encourage you to learn more about each stone to help you identify which stones will best meet your lifestyle and needs. This will save you time and avoid feeling overwhelmed as we carry a large inventory of materials so some visitors can feel overwhelmed with all the beautiful options and designs. Go to the Explore page to compare stones and evaluate resistance levels. If you have young children you may want a stone that has high stain resistance or high etching resistance as an example. Our inventory includes natural stones and quartz to suit every taste and budget.
